The people of Bordeaux will be able to immerse themselves in Klimt’s work in all its forms, thanks to the launch of a new digital art center which has set up shop in a former submarine base.
In April 2020, Bordeaux will welcome its very first digital art center, which is already establishing itself as the largest in the world. It’s very first exhibition will be dedicated to Gustav Klimt and looks to be nothing short of spectacular.
The Bassins de Lumières will offer unforgettable visual and audio experiences in an extraordinary space, a place where culture is shared and open to all audiences. Following the shape of the former submarine base, which has since been converted into an exhibition space, this new art hub designed by Culturespaces will no doubt be immense. Its total surface area is 13,000 m2, and it has 12,000 m2 of projection space, as well as four 110m long pools, 90 video projectors and 80 speakers. Everything has been very well though out to totally immerse its visitors and awaken all their senses into the work of the artists in honor at the center’s upcoming exhibitions.
Les Bassins de Lumières, open from April 17, 2020; Impasse Brown de Colstoun, 33000 Bordeaux; tickets available at bassins-lumiere.com
